Our client, a leader in high-speed production, is seeking a dedicated professional to ensure their production machinery runs smoothly and efficiently. If you're skilled in fault finding, breakdown repairs, and have a keen eye for process improvements, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of fast-moving production equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including issues with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and conveyors. Support production by minimising machine downtime and enhancing reliability through proactive maintenance strategies. Apply lean manufacturing principles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machinery performance. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and contribute to a culture of safety awareness. Document maintenance activities using CMMS or other maintenance management systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production supervisors, electrical engineers, and process improvement specialists, to enhance overall operational efficiency. Requirements

Proven experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer, ideally within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) environment. Strong mechanical skills, including expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems used in production machinery. Familiarity with automation systems, robotics, and PLC-controlled equipment is advantageous. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, or other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable. Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related field. Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns and emergencies. Excellent troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills. What's on Offer

Competitive salary of up to £46,000 per annum. Opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery and cutting-edge technology in a modern manufacturing facility. Career development opportunities, including ongoing training to enhance your technical skills and expertise.
