The Duties: Minimise production downtime, by carrying out routine scheduled maintenance (PPMs) and respond to unplanned breakdowns with the stipulated timeframes. Ensure that production operations maximise output and minimise downtime safely through regular planned maintenance. Respond to unplanned breakdowns in a timely and effective manner, working alongside engineering and production colleagues to minimise disruption. To be on call 1 week in 3 (Paid £2,433 per year & Any callout is paid at enhanced hourly rate, with a minimum of 3 hours being paid when called out). Optimise the performance and lifecycle of operational equipment with regular preventative maintenance, working with the Production team, to identify and understand causes of equipment wear and underperformance. Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns. Carry out all work according to Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, SOPs, Dynamic Risk Assessments and company policies and procedures.
The Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience as a maintenance engineer in a food manufacturing, cold storage or manufacturing environment (essential). Relevant certifications (NVQ'S/City & Guilds). Multiskilled engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias. Ability to work alone & as part of a team.
