Maintenance Engineering Manager

Mon to Fri Single site in Bolton Leading a team of 4-5 engineers One of the UK's largest and most successful facilities Management (FM) providers is looking to develop the engineering resource aligned against their client's new build Production facility in Bolton by recruiting a Technical Services Manager to lead engineering delivery with M&E, fabric and small projects. The site consists of two major production facilities home to complex and critical production. The focus will be on ensuring production continues without incurring expenses for shut downs. The maintenance work is delivered by 4 engineers (two electrical, one mechanical, and one fabric), with support from contractors for specialist works. This role will manage this team and report to the General Manager. This is a complex and stimulating site, with the client based on-site, so we need a confident Technical Manager able to work effectively with customers. Actions will include: Perform leadership functions common to a facility maintenance and utility plant operations organization Review and evaluate performance and ensure quality standards are being met Take corrective action to resolve problems Understand the Owner’s building operations rules for the buildings under care as provided by the Account Manager Work with the Facility Manager to ensure efficient utilization of staff Make task assignments as needed for Work Tickets and Preventative Maintenance Work Orders for the O&M Team Solve problems within procedural limitations Ensure staff complete PMs and work orders as scheduled each month Ensure the Operations & Maintenance Documents (Documents Library) of Drawings, O&M manuals, Site Operators Manual, etc. are up to date and easily retrievable Review, edit, and maintain SOPS/MOPS/EOPS as appropriate for site operations Maintain effective storage and inventory of spare parts, tools, and service equipment in a neat and orderly manner Dispose of broken tools, unusable spare parts, and waste materials associated with the O&M program in accordance with management’s instructions Coordinate with contractors and vendors for the effective and safe accomplishment of maintenance and project work, ensuring that contractors and vendors can safely arrive on site, access the facilities properly, and are escorted to their work areas with all necessary safety precautions.
