An exciting time to join this well-established business during a time of growth and expansion, this is a key Management Role within the organisation currently c.50 staff (with a team of c.6 working under you) where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference and would suit someone who takes pride in their work ideally from a minerals or similar Production/Engineering background. Overview We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to manage a team of 6 experienced technicians including a Fabricator, Electricians, and Fitters working days and afternoons but can be on call out for nights. Your role would be days Monday to Friday but with some flexibility in emergencies. The role is to bring the team together and take overall responsibility for Preventive Maintenance, Breakdowns, Stock Control, and the daily running of the site, but also happy to help around the site when needed. Ideally, you will be from a heavy engineering background, particularly with bearings and gearboxes in a production environment. The role is varied including project work with improvements to the site, health and safety, etc. Electrics, pneumatics, and mobile plant maintenance are included. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all equipment, machinery, and facilities. Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance and skill development. Take a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical and mechanical issues. Monitor and optimize equipment performance to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Implement and manage a preventative maintenance program to reduce the likelihood of unplanned stoppages. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all maintenance activities. Manage maintenance budgets, monitor costs, and identify areas for efficiency improvements. Coordinate with operations and production teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including inspections, repairs, and equipment performance. Oversee contractors and suppliers for outsourced maintenance work. Respond promptly to emergencies and breakdowns to restore operations quickly. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in maintenance management in an industrial, manufacturing, or 24/7 operational environment. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems. Strong technical expertise in heavy plant equipment, with experience in rotary kilns, ball mills, and related machinery highly advantageous. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Solid understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an industrial setting. Budget management and cost control experience. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Optional: Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Engineering or a related field, or certifications like CMRP or PMP. You will need to have your own transport as we are based in a rural location between Matlock and Ashbourne.
