Group Maintenance Manager

to join our Senior Management Team and take the lead in maintaining our diverse property portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Estates, this is a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high standards of maintenance and compliance across our sites. Role Overview As Group Maintenance Manager, you will: Strategically support the Group’s objectives through effective maintenance management. Implement and drive new Facilities Management (FM) processes across all sites. Manage reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring resources are aligned with the needs of Milewood Healthcare homes. Lead the development of robust maintenance systems and processes to ensure high service standards. Support environmental and carbon reduction initiatives across the Group. Key Responsibilities Develop and oversee a proactive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Manage in-house maintenance operatives and external contractors, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Oversee the maintenance call-out process to provide 24/7 support for reactive maintenance. Monitor fire and legionella risk assessment remedial works. Ensure facilities management programs comply with regulatory frameworks, including CQC and fire authority standards. Participate in Senior Management Team (SMT) meetings and deputize for the Head of Estates when required. Oversee FM-related capital projects and external contractor contracts. Assist with operational facilities projects and policy development. What We’re Looking For Essential Experience and Skills: Proven experience in multi-site maintenance management. Budget management expertise. Strong knowledge of trade/engineering practices and estates health and safety legislation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. A building trade or engineering qualification (or equivalent industry experience). A full UK driving license with access to own transport. Desirable Experience: Previous experience in healthcare or care environments. Experience providing guidance confidently and effectively. Personal Attributes: A “can-do” attitude with excellent problem-solving skills. Agility and enthusiasm to manage competing priorities. Flexibility to work outside of core hours, including occasional weekends and overnight stays. Team player who can also work autonomously when required. Additional Information Remote working with travel required across the UK to our property portfolio. Travel and overnight stays will be expected from time to time. The post holder will be required to provide on-call support as needed. A DBS check (funded by the employer) will be required for the successful candidate.
