Responsibilities:

Lead the site maintenance function by providing reactive, proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Responsible for planned scheduling, adherence to agreed maintenance programmes, and timely completion of work to minimise the downtime in Production, ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

Managing a team of 7.

Effectively manage maintenance activities on each shift and any small projects to the team, planning and managing effective execution of those tasks. Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure the smooth operation of the site. Develop the existing Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules, ensure complete adherence to avoid production downtime, monitor performance against targets and report to the Factory Manager.

Manage both internal resources and external contractors, as appropriate, to minimise production downtime. Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of any electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken. Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spending and a strategy to manage expenditure. Manage "piranha/shire" Maintenance logging system and maintain agreed KPIs. Manage new plant & equipment installations from involvement in the specification, managing supplier contact, through to commissioning with all relevant 3rd parties. Attend various meetings and execute upon agreed actions. Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation. Provide technical expertise to the team (ideally an electrical background). Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility, ensuring KPIs are met, including reporting. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department. Manage contractors on-site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements. Ensure that the function operates by all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors.
