JOB PURPOSE:

To manage and coordinate the activities of the Maintenance Department so as to provide support for the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost effective and efficient manner. REPORTING TO:

Operations Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for all maintenance aspects within the site. Provide maintenance/engineering support for the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost effective and efficient manner. Lead a team of Maintenance Technicians/Fitters and contractors across the plant supporting all production departments in line with key business goals. Responsible for managing the site's equipment preventative maintenance program through the CMMS system. Responsible for identifying critical Plant assets and ensuring required spares and PM programs are in place. Responsible for ensuring that factory equipment operates to design capacities, throughputs and effectiveness. Responsible for developing factory maintenance budget for approval and managing site maintenance costs to meet approved maintenance budget. Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. Ensures all engineering activities within factory are developed to the appropriate health and safety standards. Responsible for maintaining plant asset register. Responsible for maintaining effective stock control of spare parts for all equipment. Manage the skills versatility of the Maintenance team to ensure a high level of cross trained technical capability exists within the team. Responsible for the suitable selection & hiring of Maintenance technical staff in support of the business. Ensures site complies with all related regulatory standards. Ensure contingency response for out of hours and critical failures. Continually interface with operations and quality to ensure that the maintenance function is supporting the business on an ongoing basis. Report and communicate effectively with the senior management team on an ongoing basis. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE: Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or Electrical). 5 Years' experience in a maintenance management role. A trade qualification with significant previous experience in a similar role would be considered. Previous relevant experience in milk processing regulated environment is an advantage. A proven track record in the leadership & management of technical staff is required. KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES:

Strong inter-personal and communication skills. Excellent problem solving, trouble shooting and project management skills in an industrial environment. High motivation, flexibility and the ability to work on own initiative. Ability to lead & motivate multi-skilled maintenance technicians. Knowledge of safety standards, hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to maintenance work. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
