The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager based at our operational site in Stoke, where you’ll be based at our Land Recovery head office, a business acquired by AIUK as part of our wider circular economy strategy. As the Maintenance Manager reporting to the General Manager, this role is an opportunity to transform our approach in order to safely and efficiently carry out planned maintenance and repairs to a range of vital fixed and mobile plant (recycling & rail) along with the company’s extensive logistics fleet, in order to maintain our asset capacity, compliance, and value. This is a new role in our Land Recovery team giving you a real opportunity to develop the engineering function as you see fit and make your mark on our site. In this strategic role, you’ll set in place a PPM schedule to help keep our equipment operational and develop our existing stores to optimise downtime of equipment. Leading our team of Maintenance Engineers and Fabricators and with the support of the Leadership Team on site, you’ll ensure pre-equipment inspections take place across our large fleet of rail and HGV equipment, as well as the onsite maintenance activities of our wash plants, crushers, and screens. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Maintenance team, providing direction and support to ensure optimal performance. Develop, plan, and execute maintenance strategies for land recovery operations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality standards. Monitor and control budgetary expenditures to maintain financial performance within set parameters. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee the implementation of engineering projects and solutions to optimise land recovery processes. Who You Are You’ll be a strong leader with proven experience managing teams within a maintenance or engineering capacity in an industrial or manufacturing environment with rail, recycling, or civils machinery. Understanding & awareness of Railway Group & Company Standards / Codes of Practice applicable to RRV & RMMM vehicles plus their maintenance plans is a benefit. Experienced in engineering solutions and maintenance management. Good understanding & demonstration of health and safety, including RAMS & PTW. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Highly organised with robust planning and project management skills. Capable of making informed decisions that align with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
