As a Maintenance Planner, you will be providing a safe, high-quality, cost-effective maintenance service to site assets including preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance ensuring achievement of Factory Key Performance Indicators, targets (minimise downtime, maximise quality and efficiency) and budgets. You will be a technical support to Operational Teams and Operations Management, monitoring maintenance activities, routines and procedures for accuracy, effectiveness and completion. You will drive line performance to meet targets coordinating technical & operational activities. This is a shift-based role (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off). Responsibilities

Maintain and develop the crisp factory equipment using the Preventative Maintenance Plan in order to minimise downtime. Develop and maintain excellent working knowledge of all equipment from potato intake through washing, peeling, slicing, frying, sorting, flavouring, packing and palletising processes. Mechanical and electrical engineering repairs including PLC updates in conjunction with manufacturer standards where required. Maintenance of the critical spares/ asset register/ planned maintenance programme logs. Collaborate in shift meetings to predict and resolve future problems. React to breakdowns in a timely manner, ensuring product quality is maintained and identify, where applicable, root causes of problems. Support maintenance manager to analyse ongoing maintenance issues to propose solutions to prevent future downtime and maximise equipment uptime. Maintain a tidy and effective workshop and spares area. Support the wider factory team in delivering BRC accreditation and AIB at the targeted level. Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner (both EHS and Food Safety). Provide support to and involvement in site Project and Change Initiatives (CIs) as appropriate. This includes managing capital and operational projects to agreed timetables, within budget constraints. Work closely with contractors to ensure that Pipers receive the best service whilst meeting all regulatory and safety protocols on site. Support wider site maintenance programmes (roof, car parks, CCTV, warehouse spaces and utilities across both Watson and Pegasus Road sites). Safe & qualified use of equipment including fork lifts, cherry pickers, shunt vehicle. Coaching and supporting the GO group to develop their technical skills. Support site contractor activity through issuing Permit to Works and review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS). Qualifications

Good electrical and mechanical maintenance skills. Experience within a production environment. NVQ L3 or equivalent time served Engineering apprenticeship with proven hands-on experience. City & Guilds 2391 holder (Electrical Testing & Inspection). Strong team player who demonstrates a continuous improvement approach. Ability to manage and prioritise workloads to support business needs. Computer literate (Word, Excel, etc). Preferred (but not essential): Experience within a FMCG or high-volume continuous production environment. Experience of leading and coaching a team.
