The team provides the day-to-day face of the partnership, ensuring every aspect is delivered to high standards and supporting the student experience. Here at UPP, we have an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor

to work as part of our team based at the University of Plymouth, providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service. This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm. The salary is c. £37,000 per annum plus on-call allowances/overtime (potentially up to an additional £3K per annum). Applicants must have a recognised trade qualification in electrical or plumbing discipline as a pre-requisite for this role. Role responsibilities as a Maintenance Supervisor include: Supervise team members in providing a planned and reactive maintenance service in line with the Service Level Agreements, Planned Preventative and reactive Maintenance Schedules. Lead in-house self-delivery of disciplines across the site, including directing and motivating the team. Induct and monitor contractors completing works on site. Plan and organise staff resources, monitoring absences and timekeeping to ensure resources are appropriately aligned to the delivery of business requirements. Proactively work with the site management team to promote and enhance employee engagement, safety, and wellbeing amongst the team. Enhance and develop the capability of the team, continually working to drive improved performance. Organise and work with sub-contractors as relevant to ensure services are effectively planned and delivered. Ensure the appropriate risk assessments, method statements, and where relevant, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place prior to commencement of any works. Maintain accurate records of assets, breakdowns, and maintenance repairs using the CAFM system. Liaise with other UPP staff, contractors, and University clients to facilitate works completion in a timely manner, being aware of access restrictions and timings relating to student occupancy. Organise parts and equipment, including stock control systems, to ensure efficient completion of works to SLA timescales, including appropriate procurement to ensure best value. Participate in an on-call rota as UPP’s primary representative. you to have worked in a similar environment and have great communication and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job. You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems, as well as a good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends. You will possess a valid UK Driving Licence.
