Up to £47k DOE Job Summary Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Leader to oversee maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a solid background in mechanical and electrical systems. This role is crucial for ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of operations. Duties Supervise and lead a team of maintenance engineers, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Troubleshoot and repair systems to minimise downtime. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of spare parts. Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and improve operational efficiency. Train team members on best practices for maintenance procedures and safety protocols. Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform welding tasks as required, ensuring high-quality workmanship. Read and interpret schematics to assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions. Assemble, install, reposition, and test systems, machinery, and equipment as required. Carry out planned preventative inspections and maintenance, documenting activities as per schedule. Plan and prioritise workloads to support production and ensure efficient use of working time. Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults, and concerns to management. Qualifications Proven experience in a supervisory role within a maintenance environment. Excellent mechanical skills with the ability to perform repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently. Demonstrated leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and develop team members. Proficient in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with team members and other departments. Ability to read and understand technical schematics related to equipment operation and repair.
