We have an exciting opportunity for a substantive Major Trauma Rehab Lead (0.6wte Band 8a) within the Regional Major Trauma Rehab Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative AHP or Nurse, with significant rehabilitation experience at a senior level, to co-lead the major trauma rehabilitation team. The major trauma rehabilitation team provides specialist rehabilitation input to a 10 bedded inpatient unit (7 days a week) and multi-disciplinary (MDT) out-patient clinic for patients admitted following major trauma. The major trauma rehab leads provide operational day-to-day management and leadership to the major trauma rehab team and work with the trauma coordinators and rehabilitation consultants to support patients through the clinical pathway, providing continuity and advocacy for the patients' rehabilitation needs. The post holder will also initially take a lead in governance and quality assurance for the major trauma rehabilitation team as the governance lead. This element of the role will rotate amongst the three rehab leads. We welcome candidates with a passion for and experience of delivery of specialist rehabilitation for patients with complex musculoskeletal and/or neurological injuries, excellent communication skills, and experience in quality and service development. Main duties of the job

22 hours 30 minutes/week Effective communication across a range of individuals and groups on highly complex, potentially stressful topics in a range of situations. Development of own and others' knowledge and practice across professional and organizational boundaries. Work closely with the MDT in managing a caseload of patients who have sustained serious and major trauma to ensure that all patients receive rehabilitation assessment and prescription in a timely manner and facilitate transfers to other services. We are looking for someone who is a dynamic and positive leader with a passion for delivering excellence, quality, and improvement for staff and patients within the major trauma rehabilitation service. Job responsibilities

To provide operational day-to-day management and leadership to the major trauma rehabilitation team. To coordinate and lead the trauma rehabilitation team multidisciplinary team meeting. To coordinate the rehabilitation care pathway of patients following serious or major trauma admitted to Major Trauma Rehabilitation ward who need ongoing rehabilitation as a result of their injuries, working as part of the multi-disciplinary trauma team. To provide specialist advice to support assessment, planning, and implementation of care, as part of the team responsible for programmes of rehabilitation for patients who have sustained Major Trauma and serious trauma. To ensure data and outcome measures for all patients are recorded and used appropriately to improve patient care and support service development. To carry a clinical caseload of the most complex patient journeys through the clinical pathway, providing continuity and advocacy of the patients' rehabilitation needs as they move from one clinical setting to the next. Qualifications & Education

Qualified Allied Health Professional or Nurse Masters level qualification (or working towards) or evidence of specialist training, experience, or short courses equivalent to Masters level. Current registration with HCPC or NMC. Knowledge & Experience

Post registration experience with significant experience of rehabilitation practices at a senior level. Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in rehabilitation supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD.
