Management Accountant – 6 Month FTC

Full Time – 6 month FTC – 37 hours per week – Ideally located within 1 hour of Peterborough We have a fantastic opportunity to join CKH as a Management Accountant which has arisen due to an internal promotion. As a Management Accountant at CKH, you will play a key role in providing financial insight, supporting preparation for budgets and forecasts and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This is an ideal role for someone who is already qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) and has experience in the housing sector as we are looking for someone to hit the ground running. It would be advantageous if the successful candidate has experience of journals, prepayment, general ledger and working with auditors as part of year end processes. Your understanding of housing finance, combined with your technical expertise, will help us continue to grow while keeping our financial operations running efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis : Prepare monthly management accounts, providing detailed commentary on variances and trends, and offering insightful analysis to support decision-making. Budgeting & Forecasting : Support the budgeting process and provide regular forecasting updates to help manage financial performance. Financial Control : Ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, reconciliations, and year-end processes. Management Information : Deliver timely, relevant, and accurate financial information to stakeholders, helping guide strategic decisions. Collaboration & Support : Work closely with internal departments to advise on financial matters, providing support on business cases and cost-saving initiatives. What We’re Looking For: Qualified Accountant : You’ll need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a solid grounding in financial management. Experience in Housing : Experience working within the housing sector or a similar environment is highly desirable. You’ll have a good understanding of the financial issues unique to housing providers. Technical Skills : Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with financial systems such as Open Accounts to produce high-quality reports and analysis. Analytical Mindset : A strong ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Team Player : While you’ll be responsible for your own tasks, you’ll also work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues across the business. Communication : You’ll need to have effective communication skills who can adapt their style depending on the task at hand. This role is home based with the requirement to attend our Peterborough Head Office as required for training and meetings. A DBS check is required for this role.
