Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria: Part-qualified accountant or significant relevant accounting experience Significant experience in a financial management role. Evidence of on-going professional or personal development; e.g. Continuing Professional Development Desirable criteria: Degree or Masters Evidence of leadership development Experience

Essential criteria: Experience at a senior level in a complex financial environment. Management Accounting Experience. Experience of working effectively in a team Track record of financial and non-financial achievements Staff management experience Desirable criteria: NHS provider or commissioner experience Experience of working with a Patient Level Information Costing System. NHS Contracting experience. Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria: Excellent interpersonal skills as required to interact regularly with senior colleagues inside and outside the organisation Ability to influence decision making Strong communication skills both verbal and in writing Able to engage, influence and hold the respect of a wide range of managers and clinicians. Able to look at the big picture as well as the detail. Ability to convey complex finance information and issues in an easily understood manner A committed, pro-active individual able to work on their own initiative and prioritise workloads. Responsive to change and innovation Ability to work to challenging deadlines effectively Good IT skills Desirable criteria: Understanding of NHS national reforms and policies Awareness of the current developing areas within commissioning Working knowledge of the NHS National Tariff Payment System Personal Attributes
