An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a dynamic outsourcing department in one of London's top 25 accountancy firms. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients across different sectors, building and maintaining key relationships that are central to the firm's continued growth.
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of accounting functions and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working with cloud accounting platforms such as Xero and QuickBooks, and has a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT legislation.
What you will be doing as a Management Accountant:
Oversee the accurate and timely processing of the payroll for the entire group. Record bank payments, receipts, and conduct bank reconciliations. Manage sales and purchase ledgers. Perform control account reconciliations. Handle transactions in foreign currencies. Prepare VAT returns and monthly/quarterly management accounts for client review. Account for monthly adjustments, including prepayments, accrued income, and accruals. Deal with client queries related to bookkeeping and VAT, providing clear, concise explanations. What you'll need to succeed:
ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent) or be qualified by experience. A sound knowledge of VAT legislation and Making Tax Digital (MTD). Proven experience in preparing management accounts, ideally within a busy accountancy practice. A broad understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, with the ability to use a range of functionality. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with clients across various sectors. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think laterally to identify potential issues and provide solutions.
