Management Accountant
to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.
Offered on a
fixed term contract until May 2026 , this role has responsibility for a range of finance related deliveries. We are ideally looking for a proactive CCAB accountant who can confidently assist with the preparation of management accounts and provide reports, reconciliations and information to both internal and external stakeholders, additionally helping to review and develop the financial processes and structure of AHDB. Previous experience using modern ERP systems and associated interrogation tools is essential, along with advanced use of MS Office products.

Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of management accounts for allocated functions, sectors and workstreams within agreed deadlines
Liaison with sector and functional staff on the preparation of budgets and forecasts, understanding expenditure and attending management meetings
Reconciliation of allocated balance sheet accounts
Preparation of periodical and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders
Liaison with internal and external auditors, DEFRA staff and external advisors as necessary
Ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions and accounting standards
Suggest and make improvements to the finance processes of AHDB
Provide assistance to, and cover for, other finance staff as necessary, ensuring the smooth running of AHDB and the finance department
Minimum Requirements:
A CCAB accountant (preferred) or qualified by experience
Highly computer literate, including advanced use of Microsoft Office products and experience of using modern ERP systems including the use of system interrogation tools
Excellent inter-personal skills with proven experience of partnering with non-finance staff
Experience developing efficient processes and increasing efficiency
Pro-active approach to problem solving and experienced in managing conflicting deadlines and workloads
Good level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables
Able to motivate, influence and get results by working with others at all levels
Good verbal and written communication skills including report writing and delivering presentations
Proven project management and organisational skills
Good analytical and evaluation skills
