This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious part qualified/finalist Management Accountant, looking for a step into a new challenge, that will offer clear and structured progression to a Finance Manager position once you qualify! This is a newly created role due to further significant growth for this fantastic Harrogate based SME. The role will report directly to the Group FD, and will initially join the small finance team and take responsibility for producing the management accounts and analysis. The longer term plan is that the successful candidate will move up into the Finance Manager position once qualified, and will then lead a team of three, to complete monthly bank, tax, and intercompany reconciliations in line with deadlines. This opportunity therefore provides clear and guaranteed progression opportunity for someone who is part qualified or finalist ACCA/ACA/CIMA, and looking to develop their career once they qualify. The key duties of the role will include: Production of management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Leading on year-end audit of stat accounts. Drive automation of the Finance functions processes. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. Ensuring posting of monthly results into the ledger, creating strong controls Striving for faster financial closing to maximise the time available to provide insight and value add analysis and commentary while meeting deadlines. Developing appropriate policies, procedures and identifying opportunities to improve and streamline processes. Responsible for ensuring finance systems are compliant, efficient and fit for business purpose. Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations. The successful candidate will: Be Part Qualified/Finalist ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a minimum of 2 years experience in a management accounting role - Essential Have advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software packages - Essential Have experience of implementing automation and be committed to continuously look to improve processes - Essential Have solid knowledge of accounting standards and be technically strong - Essential What's on offer?
