The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role reporting to the Veovo Finance Business Partner, responsible for day-to-day Financial Management and assisting in all internal and external reporting.
As a Management Accountant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring financial efficiency and success, collaborating closely with project managers, finance teams, and senior leadership to deliver high quality financial information.
The Specifics
Month End Duties:
Lead month end accounting processes with focus on revenue recognition Robust analysis of actuals (particularly for costs) to ensure accurate accounting, understanding and analysis Timely and accurate monthly management accounts with variance analysis against budgets and forecasts Perform balance sheet reconciliations ensuring that all items are clearly identified and explained Demonstrate effective balance sheet control through monthly review of reconciliations and provision of aged KPIs
Other Functions: Ensure all finance activities run smoothly Review and analyse contracts and other financial agreements to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards Create and maintain charge rules and revenue rules and manage customer rate cards on the system Support with the annual budgeting and forecasting process Work with marketing, sales and operations departments to conduct regular financial reviews to ensure alignment with targets Communicating and interpreting financial data to non-financial managers Working with the internal accounting team to identify problem areas and provide recommendations to improve finance processes Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process Cover for Business Partner and Accounts staff as required
What we are looking for: Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or qualified by experience Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position is essential, with a strong background in accounting and financial management Experience of running month end processes, and delivering P&L and balance sheet to tight deadlines Experience of multi-currency reporting and FX transactions desirable Good time management, organisational skills and ability to prioritise and work well under pressure Detail-oriented and analytical with ability to summarise complex information IT literate with excellent Microsoft Excel proficiency Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to influence, negotiate and work well in a team environment Leadership capabilities
