Band 5 - Management Accountant An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the finance team at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Management Accountant is a key member of the Financial Management team. They will support the Finance Business Partner to one of our Clinical Divisions, by ensuring that financial reporting systems and processes are efficient and effective, so that high-quality reports are provided in a timely way. They will also provide accurate and timely financial information to managers, undertake complex financial analyses and investigate complex queries. The role requires good management accounting experience, a flexible attitude and the ability to produce high quality work within tight deadlines. Preferably you will also have made progress towards a CCAB qualification. The finance team is based at the Mount Vernon Hospital site and there is some flexibility to work from home. Main Duties of the Job

In conjunction with the Divisional Finance Manager, provide accurate and timely financial information to non-financial managers, incorporating both financial and non-financial data. Responsible for producing draft budget statements for review by Finance Business Partner. To maintain and update information in the finance systems, including the calculation of accruals and prepayments, actioning interfaces from other systems such as payroll and stores and the calculation of recharge and reallocation journals. Investigate complex financial queries arising both from external departments and internally. Use appropriate analytical techniques, business knowledge and experience to identify errors or other possible causes. Undertake corrective action, or advise managers of findings as appropriate. Degree level or equivalent education Studying or willing to study toward professional qualification Experienced user of IT packages such as Excel, Word, Access and Powerpoint, and a knowledge of computerised financial ledger systems Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate useful financial information from large volumes of data NHS finance experience Good organisational skills Desirable Criteria
