Management Accountant

to deliver an effective financial and management accounting function including management, reporting and the continuous improvement of processes and controls within the Rolling Stock business unit. Based out of the Northampton office, the successful candidate will manage the preparation of financial performance reports, ensure transactions are recorded in conformance with IFRS and adequate internal controls are in place. Monitoring, maintaining and reviewing financial records Managing the development of major expense projections on the basis of prior budgets and expenditures as well as future business requirements Performing accounting activities such as account reconciliation and preparation of journal entries Preparing and maintaining ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and fiscal reports Reporting of RS & CS month end Financial Results for review and approval by Finance Director Producing and developing management reports for Finance Director Being responsible for overall consolidation of Forecast for Customer Service and Rolling Stock business Providing support to Financial Controller for ad hoc tasks and special projects Providing support to project accountants on general project accounting SAP issues Ongoing improvement of financial processes and procedures in the context of the job and financial activities Involvement and support on aspects of financial controlling Reviewing balance sheet & income statement Participation and coordination of ICFR related activities Your success will be grounded by …

Suitable Accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) – or progress towards one Demonstrable relevant accounting & financial experience Solid accounting skills with ability to demonstrate an understanding and interpretation of key financial statements Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Self-disciplined with strong time management ability Ability to demonstrate initiative with flexible and proactive approach to work Good working knowledge of SAP desirable Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, company bonus, holiday allowance and pension.
