JOB SUMMARY: Due to the recent growth we've experienced within the group we're looking to welcome an additional Management Accountant into our dynamic Finance team. Working closely with the Financial Controller, this role will be tailored to suit both the needs of the company and the individual, allowing us to continue driving towards our company goals. We are open to a variety of profiles for this role, but most importantly, we're looking for someone who is willing to learn and gain a strong understanding of business operations. The successful candidate will operate as a key Finance figure and Business Partner for our Farming businesses. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will cover a broad scope of tasks including but not limited to; year-end and audit assistance, cashflow forecasting, budgeting, analysis, decision support, balance sheet control, statutory reporting, information gathering and utilisation. KEY SUCCESS CRITERIA: Ability to transfer and utilise technical accounting skills across several farming entities, applying a consistent and accurate approach. Can-do attitude, tackling challenges head-on whilst building relationships with operational staff members to identify and eliminate future problems. Working closely with the Financial Controller to develop future success strategies to guide the team to a sustainable future. Helping to ensure maintenance of accurate financial records throughout the year, maximising company cashflow and providing a high level of service provision to various internal and external stakeholders. Building relationships with and working closely with other departments within the Finance team and other key business heads. Ability and desire to absorb information and gain in-depth knowledge about the agriculture industry and apply this knowledge to the accounting function. Review current financial processes, systems and controls and make suggestions for improvements and efficiencies. Perform financial analysis at the request of the Financial Controller to help manage the business and to aid key business decisions. Proactively help manage costs throughout the year. Working with the other business accountants to proactively strive for best practice and company risk mitigation. Ability to adapt, understand and accurately utilise different financial systems and software packages. Pro-active approach to dealing with challenges in a positive manner. Desire to enhance in-house statutory reporting for both limited companies and partnerships, whilst liaising with external business Accountants. Strong communication skills, delivering effective messages verbally and written, to both financially and non-financially minded stakeholders. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Solid technical accounting knowledge – qualified or part-qualified ACA, CIMA, or ACCA. OR qualified by experience with significant knowledge of the business area for which you are responsible. Strong and up-to-date Microsoft Excel skills. Agriculture/farming background is desirable. KEY INTERACTIONS: Directors and Business Owners. Financial Controller. Operational Managers. Accountants and Admin team members. Suppliers and Customers. OTHER: Salary range between £35,000 - £55,000 based on knowledge and experience. Holidays - 31 days per annum including bank holidays. Vitality healthcare. Quarterly bonus scheme. NEST Pension.
