This new role is varied and the successful candidate is expected to drive significant improvement through the finance department. Key to the role will be not only your ability to show “hands-on“ experience but also the will to "get stuck in" and drive the development of the finance division. This role will allow you to be involved in helping build and grow a successful market-leading organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the reporting of monthly consolidated Management accounts
Key player of the finance team, ensuring business goals are achieved and development of key processes
Monthly Work in progress calculation and reporting, working with stakeholders around the business to understand project progress
Assist with all Balance Sheets and ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed monthly
Help drive continuous improvement in the finance function with emphasis on controls and improvement of existing processes
Bring in best in class process and controls
Identify areas where the business can be more efficient and improve existing Purchase and Sales Ledger procedures
Responsible for VAT and UK Tax returns and carry out reconciliations
Point of contact for Auditors and completion of statutory accounts
Ensure compliance is up to date for HMRC and Companies House
Help with future M&A
Integrate newly acquired business
Roll out of new ERP system (NetSuite)
Work with relevant stakeholders on ad hoc tasks
Skills and Experience:
Qualified accountant or Finalist/Part qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Several years of experience working in a finance department
Ability to work to tight deadlines and ensure deadlines are adhered to
Self-motivated with an ability to communicate across all levels
Excellent written and verbal communications
A high level of proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
