About the Company:

Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a very well-established business based in Bury to appoint a Management Accountant, which is a key role within the finance team. Working within the group, you will have a brilliant opportunity to be hands on and take ownership for your own P&L, data and monthly reporting. What we are looking for you to do/key responsibilities:

Prepare the monthly management accounts, from trial balance to creation of the P&L, balance sheet recs and commentary. Posting of journals, accruals & prepayments and payroll reconciliations. Balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain the fixed asset register, depreciation. Quarterly VAT returns. Analyse data in large data sets within Excel using various functions and formulas, covering stock, cost of sales, GP margin analysis and debtors and creditors. Assist with the annual budgeting/forecasting process. Analyse and comment on final accounts, looking at YOY/MOM performance and identifying discrepancies or anomalies. Liaise with the wider finance team including Accounts Receivable, Payable and the Credit Control team to ensure a smooth and accurate month-end process. Liaise with the wider teams in the business including sales and operations for any finance-related queries. Assist with the external audit according to schedule and contribute to the year-end statutory accounts submission. Support with ad-hoc projects, driving improvements and efficiencies throughout the finance function. Other ad-hoc work as required by the Financial Controller. Professional qualification and competencies:

At least 2 years' experience in a similar Management Accountant role. AAT qualified, QBE or CIMA/ACCA part-qualified and looking to progress your studies. Intermediate level of competency with Microsoft Excel including Vlookups, Pivot Tables, etc., and using large data sets. Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as double-entry bookkeeping. Strong attention to detail. Great communicator both written and verbally and able to forge strong relationships.
