We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced management accountant to join our Witham based client and become an integral member of the financial team for our high-end manufacturing client. As management accountant, you will be a hands-on person, responsible for communicating daily with the factory and production teams regarding their costs and needs for the orders they are producing and ensuring you keep on top of any discrepancies. It is imperative for this role of management accountant that you have a broad range of experience within accounts, have worked within the manufacturing and/or engineering industries, and possess excellent communication skills.
The Role
Meet daily with factory and production Oversee production costs Maintain daily cash flow Handle stock purchases Manage work flow Prepare all finances for audit Handle all invoices Produce a monthly valuation of work in progress and stock Responsible for new-product cost estimates and for providing recommendations for cost efficiency in any new-product designs Working hours Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm and Friday 8am to 4.30pm The Person
Previous experience within a manufacturing and/or engineering environment where analysis of costs has been key Not afraid to challenge costs and bills of material from the factory Good commercial and business awareness Excellent people skills, able to deal with people at a variety of levels Strong IT skills particularly in Sage Line 50, Excel, and ideally SQL An analytical and enquiring mind Ideally familiar with factory machines/planning/reporting Benefits to You
