Job Req Number: 89422 Time Type: Full Time Working in the Solutions Customs Department, the Customs Manager is responsible for leading the Customs team in meeting and exceeding external and internal expectations as determined within the business plan. The main purpose of the department is to support all locations with customs activity while ensuring AEO standards of compliance are maintained. Primary purpose of the role Ensure the business maintains compliance with all relevant HMRC regulations, regularly reviewing processes and data while managing the performance of the Customs team and creating efficient and effective operating procedures. To liaise with the relevant stakeholders to ensure DSV Solutions minimises customs risk and liability exposure, providing the relevant support required at the operational level. Key accountability areas Maintenance and audit of compliance processes to adhere with all required authorisations. Supporting the central Customs Compliance department with audits in line with our AEO / Customs & Excise warehousing authorisations. Manage the department, ensuring effective and efficient management of all standardised customs systems and procedures in line with the Company’s guidelines. Create and manage a schedule of audits on entries completed by the team to ensure compliance / accuracy is maintained. Work with Site Management to assess any customs risk and liability DSV Solutions may face and provide preventative measures on all existing accounts. To monitor upcoming customs changes to support any transitions required through training / procedure changes and communicating requirements with the wider business. Take the lead on customs projects including integrations / onboarding of new customs warehousing customers. Actively promote DSV’s service to customers and work with Business Development on new opportunities that arise via DSV Tenders. Promoting the good name of DSV Solutions (and its associated companies within the DSV Group) by adopting a professional approach at all times. Ensure all Company customs policies and procedures are always adhered to meet Group and statutory requirements. General responsibilities Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice. Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company. Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained and promote a good image of the Company at all times. Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 and to appreciate the responsibility you have to adhere to the respective procedures. Be aware that the Company operates a Quality Assurance system ISO 9001:2008 and adhere to the respective procedures. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping through observance of relevant Company policies and ensure that work areas are secure and locked when unoccupied. Where appropriate challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorised person. Attend any development training as required in compliance with the Company’s commitment to the Investors in People standard. Key Working Relationships Central Customs Compliance – To raise any issues, maintain compliance standards. Customs Supervisor – To work alongside the Customs Supervisor raising issues as a result from an audit. Site Management – To ensure that the customs compliance is maintained on site, all key people on site are trained for customs warehousing awareness knowledge. Business Development – provide advice and insight on any new business opportunities. Finance team – invoicing information. Other Information Requirement to be adaptable to change in line with DSV’s growth. Initiative to take on tasks and be open to challenging the current way of working with new ideas. Personal Profile Essential Desirable Education & Qualifications 4 GCSE’s or equivalent

Degree Qualified or equivalent

Customs Practitioner Award

Experience 2 years Operational and Customs Role

Detailed knowledge of UK Customs processes

Knowledge and experience of AEO

Experience working with Customs Bonded warehousing

Ability to manage and develop a team

Specialist Knowledge & Skills Excellent Microsoft Office Skills

Advanced Excel

Continuous Improvement process experience

Interpersonal & Communication Skills Ability to lead and motivate direct and indirect reports

Highly motivated with a positive attitude

High organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time

Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels

Other Full driving licence

Strong attention to detail
