About our Team

The Commercial Strategy team is a close-knit, high performing team, constantly innovating and striving for higher commercial impact. You will be based in our London Bishopsgate office, reporting to the Commercial Strategy & Planning Director with two other team members. We spend at least two days a week in the office together, working flexibly from home or the office on the other days. You will be supported by three analysts based in our Manila office who have expertise in Data Visualization and Engineering, meaning you don't get entangled in too much technical work.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, analytical, and creative problem solver to join our Commercial Strategy & Planning team. We help Cirium grow because our Analytics efforts drive data-led decisions, while our Pricing capabilities help transform how we operate. You will provide direction and support to our Commercial teams (Sales, Product, Strategy and Marketing). You will be the authority on pricing covering our five product families, three sales regions and fifteen industry sectors.

As well as leading Operational and Strategic Pricing, you will be involved in special projects e.g. leading research informing new product business models, or re-shaping how we go to market with existing products. At all times operating across functional lines with individual contributors right up to the c-suite.

Responsibilities

Operational Pricing (30-40% of the time):

Chairing our "Deal Desk" where a cross-functional group discuss and plot a way forward for our most complex opportunities. Continuously improving Cirium's pricing tools and guidance for less complex opportunities. Coordinating analysis and decision making as necessary in support of complex, high value opportunities.

Strategic Pricing (20-30% of the time): Leading a rolling program of primary-research-based pricing reviews for our diverse product portfolio, ensuring our pricing approach maximizes value for both Cirium and our customers.

Commercial Strategy projects (20-30% of the time): Work with Cirium's leadership on research efforts to inform future direction and allocation of resources. Lead growth initiatives (based on opportunities you've spotted or leadership direction) that require a strong strategic thinker to align resources from across Cirium's functions.

Our focus on professional and personal development is threaded throughout. You will be supported to continuously learn, and expected to use your knowledge to develop others, in our Commercial teams and your fellow team members.

Requirements

Incredible interpersonal skills - Cirium has an amazing culture full of diversity, great people and matrix working. Relationship building, high EQ and strong communication skills are essential. Prior experience in pricing / strategy roles - ideally within a B2B organisation or a Consulting firm, with experience in Strategy projects involving complex analytics and research techniques. Degree-level education in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Finance, Economics, Maths, Operational Research). Drive to see things through - your ideas will be implemented, you will be trusted to move our business forward; you have to be able to think see the "big picture" as well as the operational details. Enthusiastic and interested in Aviation; experience working in the industry is a huge plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, with a knack for storytelling and making the complex seem simple. Working knowledge of Commercial tools e.g. Salesforce CRM, Gong, Eloqua Campaigns. Advanced abilities in working with data - we use SQL and Python extensively, as well as Power BI (you can learn these on the job though).
