Are you ready to play a pivotal role in managing credit risk at Virgin Atlantic?

As a key member of the Treasury team, you'll manage credit allocation across Virgin Atlantic to ensure our capital structure is optimised. This role goes beyond traditional credit management, focusing on hands-on credit risk initiatives that directly support critical business objectives.

In this key position, you'll explore Virgin Atlantic's financial ecosystem, leveraging credit risk methodologies to identify areas for enhancement and drive tangible improvements in credit management and operational efficiency. Your strong relationship management and analytical skills will empower you to influence senior stakeholders, enhance their capabilities, and align credit risk strategies with broader business goals—all while managing diverse stakeholders.

You'll work closely with a variety of financial institutions, data analysis, and technology teams to ensure seamless integration of credit risk initiatives with our financial infrastructure. This collaboration will be central to aligning credit risk management with Virgin Atlantic's broader business needs.

Leading high-impact projects, you'll blend technical expertise with strategic vision, presenting data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and ensuring our credit risk management efforts remain cutting-edge. Day to day

Take a holistic approach to credit across the company. Report on evolving credit availability, identify upcoming credit requirements, and recommend solutions. Support credit conversations with financial institutions to gain access to additional credit for hedging programmes and letters of credit. Review and report on card acquiror forward sales exposure versus facility limits. Support upcoming financing activities, including new aircraft financing and refinancing of existing debt. Maintain and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions. Lead on unlocking available credit for deployment across the business to protect free cash. Ensure compliance across all key financial covenants and regulatory requirements. Support the Head of Treasury with new aircraft financing campaigns or debt restructuring projects.

About you

Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing credit risk management projects and/or driving business outcomes. Strong experience in credit risk management, including data analysis, project management, and change management. Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organisation. Strict attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in the travel airline or hospitality industry, with an understanding of a complex operational environment is preferred. Financial qualification (AMCT/Qualified Accountant (such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA/CFA) with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience. Experience dealing with banks/lenders and managing external counterparties. Excellent modelling and financial evaluation skills. Background in Corporate Finance or Transactions would also be considered.
