The Manual Handling and Ergonomic Advisor will provide concise, timely, and impartial advice, guidance, and support to managers and staff to ensure the effectiveness of the Trust’s arrangements for promoting safe handling & work activities. The post holder will lead the trust towards compliance with legislation specifically Manual Handling Operations and Display Screen Equipment Regulations. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the Manual Handling section of the health and safety action plan and will work with specialist leads to develop a standardised approach to delivering Manual Handling related tasks in the Trust. Responsibilities also include the design, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of the manual handling risk assessment training programme across the trust. Working for our organisation

Qualifications and Training
Registered nurse or allied health professional – physiotherapist/occupational therapist Accredited key trainers programme Recognised qualification in teaching or training and development Recognised moving and handling or ergonomics qualification, postgraduate level (or working towards) Knowledge and Experience
Current manual handling management and advisory experience Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating training Clear communicator and negotiator both internally and externally Highly specialised knowledge of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations Experience of moving and handling risk management Specialised knowledge of workplace musculoskeletal health issues Experience of specialist moving and handling activities including those specific to the plus-sized patient group and bariatric management Supervisory experience Flexibility on hours and travelling between sites as role demands Skills and Abilities
