Due to continued growth, I’m currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to work with a well-established engineering company based near Halesowen. As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of the production processes for the machine shop. You’ll also be responsible for improving the efficiencies and quality of the production process. Shift pattern for the Manufacturing Engineer: 08.00am – 17.00pm (15:30pm finish on Fridays) What’s on offer for the Manufacturing Engineer: Competitive salary up to £45,000 p.a. 25 days holiday + Bank holidays Company pension contribution Duties of the Manufacturing Engineer: Reviewing production plan & minimising set up time on next jobs to be processed Ensuring route card instructions / drawings are legible & understood Analysing and reporting on production processes, methods, set up times, cycle times Mapping current process (workflow & work study on production runners) Analysing / evaluating actual process / times against standards Establishing an effective work sequence / workflow strategy Implementing best practice to improve efficiency (change standard) Setting up structured program vaults on CNC machines Evaluating quality control processes and making recommendations for improvements Ensuring that the company’s manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies/procedures and customer requirements/regulations Auditing / verifying to ensure employees are following route card instructions & procedures while operating the equipment Reviewing and calculating the costs of the different tools and equipment in the production process and predicting the overheads in future production requirements Assisting in minimising downtime of the equipment by coordinating maintenance and repair services around production schedules / production windows Ensuring Operator TPM checks / actions are done. If trained, cover employee absence Remaining up to date on the most recent developments & advancements in machining processes & technology Assisting in defining essential safety protocols & identifying, documenting & reporting unsafe situations / routines The successful candidate for the Manufacturing Engineer position will have the following experience: 3 – 5 years experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer within a CNC Environment (Essential) In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and production processes (Essential) Ability to write and deliver SOPs (Essential) Experience within heavy engineering (Desirable)
