Calnex’s products consist of multiple complex PCAs loaded with thousands of components, some of which are extremely expensive BGAs, assembled in a metal instrument casing with high speed data buses and external interfaces. The instrument manufacturing is supported by a local supplier, delivered in-house, customised to the customer specified software requirements, tested, and shipped. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our small, but experienced manufacturing team. The team has a wide range of responsibilities, and this role will provide an opportunity to develop skills and experience across all these responsibilities. This role is particularly suited to a recent Graduate or an Engineer with one or two years experience, who wishes to join a dynamic company with opportunities for learning, personal development, and career progression. As part of the Manufacturing Team, your range of responsibilities will, over time, include the following: Manufacturing Testing

– Perform the Manufacturing test and calibration on Production instruments to ensure compliance with production specification and product quality requirements. RMA Support

– Perform fault finding and diagnostic investigations on instruments returned by our customers. Fault finding shall be to component level and local rework performed as appropriate. New Product Introduction

– Working closely with the R&D team to provide guidance on design for manufacturing practices and supporting the transfer of new products from the design phase to the contract manufacturer, establishing production stability. Technical Support

– Supporting both design engineers and contract manufacturers by testing, fault-finding and repairing complex analogue and hi-speed digital circuits down to component level. Supplier Management

– Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers whilst managing day-to-day issues. Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Qualified to at least HND level in Electronic Engineering and/or demonstrated experience in debugging electronic circuits down to component level. Planning and organisational skills. Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, changing environment. Ability to work closely with others in a multi-discipline team. Ability to respond to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. Driven to achieve results. Calnex rewards success and offers competitive salaries.
