Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, focusing on process improvement and GD&T application. Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge and practical experience with GD&T standards (BS 8888). Process Optimisation:
Familiarity with methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent techniques for process improvement. Software Proficiency:
Skilled in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to review and interpret engineering drawings. Quality Systems:
Experience with quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001. Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Advanced Manufacturing:
Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing, 5-axis CNC machining, and wire EDM. Composites Expertise:
Familiarity with composite manufacturing and assembly methods. Desirable Attributes:
ERP / MRP Systems:
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or material requirements planning (MRP) systems, such as SAP or Oracle. Manufacturing Processes:
Hands-on experience in metalworking, machining, or related manufacturing processes. Driving Licence:
Possession of a valid full UK driving licence. Professional Membership:
Chartered Membership of a recognised Engineering Institution is highly desirable.
