Polytec are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our client based in Royston.
Responsibilities:
Act as liaison between internal departments and external customers and suppliers
Develop and implement manufacturing methods from supply chain through to final stage
Work with designers and engineers throughout product development projects
Implement best practice methods to improve efficiency in production
Resolve manufacturing issues through guidance and prioritisation
Root cause analysis, implementing solutions such as jigs and fixtures, process change or design change
Develop, maintain and improving manufacturing documentation
Generate FMEA analysis as required
Requirements:
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
Substantial experience in manufacturing engineering or electromechanical assemblies and implementation of lean manufacturing technologies
Successful in NPI from design to delivery to production
Excellent manufacturing engineering and process development skills
Experience in the design of jigs and fixtures for manufacturing
A good understanding of engineering principles and Design for Manufacture
Commercial awareness
