Your responsibilities

Working in the Engineering team within our Manufacturing organisation, this position will involve undertaking all aspects of the introduction of new products into manufacturing. Working closely with Design Engineers, you will ensure process capability to achieve SQCDE requirements and regulatory compliance of new product introductions and of changes to existing products. Design, planning and commissioning production line layouts/cells/equipment to achieve high QCD in NPI activities. Transfer and set up of manufacturing data, including all manufacturing documentation. Documenting process verification & validation exercises in line with Design Control procedures. Provide ongoing support to maintain and improve production QCD. Generation of engineering change requests (ECRs) to design change control procedures. Design & implementation of component supply and finished product systems (e.g. Kanban, Pull systems). Conduct Health & Safety, COSHH and PUWER risk assessments as required. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes (injection moulding, sheet metal etc.). Participate in development projects, continuous improvement activities, training, quality investigations and supplier selection as required. Minimum Requirements

Minimum of a HNC or above (HND/Degree) in an Engineering discipline is essential. Previous experience of working in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques. Familiarity with design software tools. Ability to interpret drawings. Computer & IT literacy, including competency with Microsoft Office suite. Good written & oral communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. The role requires you to be on your feet for extended periods of time during your general day-to-day activities. Some travel may be required to visit subsidiary companies and suppliers.
