The core responsibility of this job function is to support manufacturing processes to improve product quality and ease of manufacture. Apply modern manufacturing methodology and continuous improvement philosophy to the manufacturing engineering practices. Key duties include, but are not limited to: Experience of manufacturing complex large fabrications Track record of delivering Manufacturing improvements including change over time reduction, cycle time, error-proofing and fixture design would be advantageous. Ability to review Quality data to identify and prioritise improvement actions Create, manage and deliver improvement action plans Implement a customer focused, operational improvement culture delivering world class customer service levels. Coordinate cross functional team activities to optimise cost performance of the plant through capital investment programmes, optimising operating standards and minimising waste through the development of a continuous improvement culture encompassing lean principles Support and lead structured problem solving and process improvement activities, 8D or similar Provide design for manufacturing input in new product development process, coordinate and support the new product development team in developing effective processes to ensure manufacturability of products, maintaining quality, safety, cost and environmental standards. Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to. Implement effective containment and permanent corrective actions to manufacturing quality and process issues. What we’re looking for... We need you to hold an HND or an Advanced/Higher Apprenticeship in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, ideally, you will be educated to Bachelor level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Discipline. We need you to have a proven successful track record of manufacturing excellence and have experience in a similar role within an industrial or technical environment. It would be advantageous to have planning experience with SAP or to be trained in SAP. What you can expect from us...
