Our Engineering Manager will manage the Engineering team within our food manufacturing facility in Otford, Kent. At Jardox, we are the "Taste Behind the Brands." We are a one-stop shop for all savoury ingredients, specialising in: Stocks Gravies Curry pastes Marinades Glazes Sausage & burger seasonings Herb & spice-based products This new role for Jardox will ensure the sustainable and proactive delivery of engineering, whilst in parallel ensuring that day-to-day operational engineering is executed. With very strong engineering skills, the successful candidate will align engineering strategy with organisation goals, exercising strong interpersonal and leadership qualities, whilst being proactive in eliminating unplanned maintenance. The successful candidate will, on a day-to-day basis: Manage the team to ensure reliability and productivity of Jardox equipment. Share knowledge and be driven to develop a robust and capable Engineering team. Strategically ensure preventative maintenance of our food production machinery is carried out. Oversee the tools and equipment inspection process to guarantee safety. Manage the contractor liaison process, ensuring SLAs are adhered to and budgets are managed. Oversee the identification of common failure modes and areas for reliability and efficiency improvement within Engineering and Production. Ensure the team uses reliability centred maintenance approaches such as predictive maintenance, preventative maintenance, root cause failure analysis, condition-based maintenance, failure modes and effects analysis. Ensure the team applies reliability analysis techniques such as vibration analysis, condition monitoring, oil analysis, etc. Oversee the collection, interpretation and analysis of reliability and maintenance data, ensuring the team updates the CMMS and writes associated reports. Collaborate with IT in terms of the utilisation of AI. Ensure the team utilises the tools and techniques of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement. You will have: The ideal blend of engineering alongside brilliant interpersonal skills. A track record of root cause analysis, failure analysis, and trend identification. PLC fault finding experience along with instruments, inverters, drives and control systems experience. Demonstrable experience in working in an environment where food safety and health and safety are paramount. Drive to continuously improve engineering processes. We close between Christmas and New Year and contribute to your pension at a rate of up to 5.5%, on a matched basis. Holiday allowance is 25 days per year (plus bank holidays).
