Position: Manufacturing Manager Location: West Chester, OH, 45014

Position Summary: Under general direction of the GM, supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers. Essential Functions: Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel. Patrol and monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment in order to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures or safety rules. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance. Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures. Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies. Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use. Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Management of Personnel Resources — Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Installation — Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding on appropriate course of action Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings — Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems. Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Subordinates — Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge — Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job. Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships — Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time. Ability to process computer data and to format and generate reports. Training/Education and/or Special Qualifications: An appropriate mix of education and experience which would allow the employee to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above; and at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Work is normally performed in an indoor shop Work requires continual standing, hearing, vision with frequent handling and occasional carrying, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, reaching, twisting and walking May be susceptible to eye strain. May be susceptible to repetitive motion injuries. Physical effort may include lifting up to 50 pounds as needed Exposure to physical risk may include confined spaces, electrical shock, fumes, gases, dust, odors, moving parts, radiant energy, slippery or uneven surfaces and vibration.
