Nicholson Hird Ltd is exclusively representing a long-established North Wales based manufacturing business, who design and manufacture an impressive range of premium quality, safety critical products.

They seek to recruit an accomplished Operations Director to oversee and further improve SQDCP performance in a fast-evolving manufacturing facility, with a focus on the development of colleagues at all levels and resulting in a true Lean culture.

As part of a Group, this role will also involve strategic input into group wide operating standards and full accountability for delivering on profit and operational excellence targets.

Key Skills:

Educated ideally to degree level in an engineering or operations based subject. Significant experience as a Head of Operations in an assembly manufacturing setting (manual or semi automated). Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of capacity planning. Proven background in identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/TPS, CI, DMAIC, TPM methodologies. Working knowledge of site based costs and P&L financials. Able to demonstrate success in a senior manufacturing operations leadership role through quantifiable achievements around both sustained positive culture change and continuous improvement. A collaborative and coaching management style, with a successful approach to target setting and cascading, effectively developing teams. Will lead by example, gain trust and inspire confidence throughout the workforce. As comfortable on the shop floor as in the boardroom.
