Description

A pivotal part of the manufacturing process is meeting and maintaining industry and regulatory standards; we are now looking for a Quality Assurance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, implementing, and controlling the processes and procedures that ensure the consistent quality of LUSH products in line with customer and regulatory standards. A key aspect of this role is maintaining and ensuring compliance with ISO 22716 guidelines (Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices), which are critical for sustaining product safety and quality throughout our production operations. Please note: We may close this vacancy early if we receive an overwhelming response or our business requirements change.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of a robust Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 22716. This includes defining quality policies, procedures, and standards and establishing clear documentation processes. Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing QA team. This involves recruiting top talent, providing ongoing training and development, and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. Oversee all aspects of ISO 22716 certification and act as the subject matter expert for this standard across all LUSH facilities globally. This includes maintaining a thorough understanding of the standard, providing guidance and support to global teams, and ensuring compliance with all requirements. Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Analyse audit findings, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective and preventive actions. Develop engaging training programs on quality standards, procedures, and best practices for all relevant departments. Foster a quality-centric culture where all employees understand their role in maintaining high standards. Proactively monitor product quality and manufacturing processes to ensure alignment with ISO 22716 standards and LUSH’s commitment to sustainability and ethical production. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product R&D, Manufacturing, Customer Services, and Process Improvement) to proactively integrate quality throughout the product lifecycle and address quality issues. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all quality-related activities, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality manuals, audit reports, corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and compliance records. Prepare for and manage external audits and inspections conducted by certifying bodies. Ensure all necessary documentation is readily available and that facilities are audit-ready. Continuously analyse quality performance, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and optimise production processes while upholding LUSH's high standards.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

A deep understanding of ISO 22716 standards. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Problem-solving. Leadership skills. Proactive and motivated. Initiative to carry out daily tasks and manage own workload. An ability to analyse quality and performance data. Confident and competent in all aspects of the role. Flexible. Exceptional planning and organisational skills. Ideally, candidates will already have ISO 19011 auditor training; if not, training will be provided for the successful candidate.
