Manufacturing Shift Manager Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire Shift Pattern: Full-time, Afternoon Shift (14:00 – 22:00) Salary: Up to £50,000 Are you an experienced Manufacturing Shift Manager seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? Our client, a market leader in bespoke building products are looking for an accomplished leader to join their operations team. Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, this pivotal position involves managing the afternoon shift, ensuring seamless operations across multiple production departments (machining, paint shop, and glazing). You’ll lead three Team Leaders, driving quality, productivity, and performance while fostering a safe and compliant workplace. Key Responsibilities of the Shift Manager include: Oversee and develop Team Leaders through objectives, KPIs, and performance reviews Ensure high-quality standards are consistently met, implementing a right-first-time approach Drive productivity and schedule adherence to achieve 100% OTIF Cultivate a culture of lean manufacturing and operational excellence Maintain rigorous compliance with HSE standards, ensuring a safe working environment We are looking for Manufacturing Shift Managers with the following experience: Proactive and solutions-oriented leader with a proven track record in people management within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment Have experience in managing cross-functional teams to deliver strong results Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement Exhibit a customer-centric mindset and an eye for quality and detail Bring resilience, adaptability, and a ‘can-do’ attitude to lead your team to success What’s on Offer Generous holiday allowance (25 days + bank holidays, increasing with service) Company pension contributions and life assurance (4x salary) Health & wellness benefits, including private medical insurance and a cash plan (post-probation) Progression opportunities within a dynamic and innovative organisation This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to make a meaningful impact and advance their career with a leading manufacturing business.
