meaning 4 days on and 4 days off which includes weekends at the Crawley site. What you’ll do at Elekta As a Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer, your main responsibility will be to test and commission linear accelerators, in addition to: Creating and maintaining machine documentation as per released procedures and work instructions to ensure adequate control and disposition of non-conforming material and provide the necessary documentation. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, taking responsibility for tools, equipment, shelter and any product being tested. Participating and contributing to the DQT process. Carrying out necessary duties for the benefit, maintenance and progression of the test department such as monthly interlock checks, housekeeping audits, Lean activities, assisting with equipment calibration, training of new engineers and representing the department in meetings. Assisting other functions within the business such as production, pre-test, spares, service or training as directed by the Manufacturing Manager — Systems Test. This could include the need to assist with testing products, fault finding, assisting other departments or personnel and possibly a need to work off site including outside of the UK. The right stuff As a Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer, you’d need to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills to be able to carry out the following tasks: Contribute towards the maintenance and improvement of the Production Test Schedule/s (PTS). Formally accept machines after completion of their testing. Carry out contamination monitoring of used assemblies and products for radiation levels (if the engineer is trained and certified as a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS)). This will be predominantly within Systems Test but could be anywhere on the Crawley site as directed by the Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) to include, for example, field returns or training machines. Confirmation that the product being tested meets the Production Test Schedule. Final sign off and acceptance in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), confirming product meets all requirements prior to shipment. Raise and manage NCR's and Concessions as required. If qualified (RPS) — to certify as safe, assemblies and products that have been exposed to X-Rays. What you bring To be successful at this role, you will have: HNC/OND Degree in Electronics/Physics based subject or equivalent. Ability to understand and operate complex systems equipment. Ability to fault find complex systems equipment at both component and machine level. Experience in any of the following fields would be beneficial — Linear Accelerators, Control systems, High Voltage equipment, Mechanical equipment, Software applications for complex electro/mechanical equipment or Vacuum systems.
