Description of role:

Yourgene Health is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Manufacturing Technicians. The role of the Manufacturing Technician/Scientist is to contribute to the high-quality and regulatory compliant manufacture of a variety of DNA based IVD kits and components to demanding quality specifications, and to ensure that the laboratory environment is operating effectively and safely in accordance with instruction provided by the Manufacturing and QC Manager.


Key areas of responsibility:

Manufacturing

  • Contribute to the supply of products on time, cost efficiently and to the required regulatory standards and product specifications to ensure business and customer needs are met
  • Execute the manufacturing plan according to scheduled works orders and following standard operating procedures
  • Dispensing of liquids using manual and semi-automated equipment
  • Monitorstock levels of essential raw materials to ensure there is sufficient stock to fulfil the manufacturing plan and dispose of expired materials to maintain well organised stockage areas
  • Operate and maintain essential equipment to a high standard to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations and recommendations governing safety, health and environmental standards
  • Contribute to process improvement programs and troubleshooting through the performance of non-routine operations and reporting of data

Quality

  • To carry out all activities in accordance with the relevant quality standard (ISO13485:2016)
  • To liaise with the Quality Department to ensure correct documentation and SOPs are in place, and to report non-conformances to ensure continual improvement
  • To comply with all health and safety and COSHH systems
  • Document department non-conformances, planned non-conformances, change controls, corrective and/or preventative actions on the Quality Management System as well as completing relevant stage and/or actions to resolve non-conformances, complete necessary changes, put corrective and/or preventative actions in place maintain and improve department operations.

Administrative Tasks

  • Goods receipt and stock maintenance
  • Filing, archiving, and other documentation organisation tasks
  • Inputting Works Orders and other required processes (such as purchasing/ordering) into the ERP system
  • Label printing and kit packing
  • Perform second checks and approve manufacturing documents, label printing activities, and barcode configuration, as well as review completed manufacturing work orders to ensure product compliance with the Quality Management System.

Communication

  • To communicate effectively, professionally, and promptly so that all relevant information is forwarded to the appropriate personnel on a regular basis
  • To participate in internal meetings, visits, and audits as and when appropriate and communicate any information back to the appropriate personnel

Other

  • To undertake any other task that may be reasonably asked by the management which is consistent with the skill base or previous employment history of the employee


Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a manual /semi-automated assembly environment or a first degree in a bio-sciences subject
  • Understanding of principles of GMP
  • Stock Control experience
  • Lab experience
  • Strong pipetting skills
  • Methodical and organised approach to work
  • Computer literate with competence in MS Office
