We are looking for a Marine Cargo Underwriter based in London.

Your Team Allianz Commercial is one of the largest Marine insurers in the world with a depth and breadth of marine capabilities that are unmatched in the industry. Allianz offers a broad portfolio of highly customizable products and an almost unlimited appetite for complex marine accounts that demand innovative solutions. The Impact You Will Have Joining the Marine team in London and on our Lloyd’s box, you will take prime responsibility for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet the Marine Cargo targets in accordance with underwriting guidelines and underwriting authority. Reporting to the Head of Marine, London you will negotiate pricing and terms and conditions, own accounts/clients, while developing and maintaining strong relationships with producers and clients in partnership with Market Management. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: Assist in the successful execution of the Marine business plan Underwrite new and renewal business Demonstrate in depth technical expertise and lead capabilities Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with clients and brokers Analyse the existing portfolio to ensure long-term profitability Establish and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders Contribute to the development of regional Underwriting strategy for Marine Actively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including Distribution, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations etc. Present in team and divisional meetings Collaborate on ad hoc projects in a small and friendly team

What You’ll Bring to the Role Significant experience as a Marine Underwriter / Broker in the London market Established relationships with brokers at peer group level and established within the market. Good understanding of the London market and competitor landscape Understanding of legal and regulatory framework Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization. Strong data and analytical skills Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills Flexible attitude and a strong team player aligned with Allianz’s culture of diversity and inclusion Commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to learn and mentor technical Underwriting skills
