Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electrician to join our team in the marine transportation industry. The Marine Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment on vessels. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of marine electrical systems, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Installation: Install and commission new electrical systems, wiring, and equipment on newly built or refurbished vessels. Ensure all installations comply with marine industry safety standards, codes, and regulations.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Use electrical testing equipment to identify electrical faults, circuit problems, or failures in systems. Repair or replace malfunctioning electrical components, ensuring minimal downtime of vessels.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure electrical systems comply with marine safety regulations, standards (e.g., SOLAS, IMO), and company policies. Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in safety training as required.

Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and installations. Report any major issues to senior engineers or management and recommend improvements.

Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with ship engineers, crew members, and other personnel to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently. Communicate effectively to resolve electrical issues quickly to avoid delays in transportation operations.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification: Technical degree or certification in electrical engineering or a related field (JIB preferred). Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, and control systems specific to marine environments. Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide effective solutions. Proficient with electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment.

Additional Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, as required by maritime conditions. Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
