Livingston Fencing Club is a small community club with two classes: one for primary school and the other for secondary school children, both running at James Young High School. To support the club, we are looking for a volunteer with Marketing and Communications experience, including knowledge and experience in social media channels. The club is about to add an adult recreational class and we would welcome support to help promote this class in the coming months, as well as ongoing promotions and features that highlight events within the sport such as World Fencing Day. Examples of how the club might need support include: Promoting the adult class and the secondary school class - this is our key priority area in the coming months. Developing flyers to print for distribution to shops/community notice boards. Creating a TikTok account. Maintaining a presence on Facebook, Instagram, and X (for active schools). Creating and maintaining a website page (we don't have one yet and would need funds; this could be a future long-term project and we would support with providing content). Creating a picture library for future use. Finding organisations and events that the club could run taster sessions for to promote classes. Once the adult class is promoted, the role is entirely flexible and would take up a few hours a month. The classes don't run during school holidays, so we expect there won't be a large time commitment in the future. We envisage the volunteer will not incur any expenses in this role; however, the club can reimburse outgoings if agreed in advance and they are affordable to the club. Experience Required

We are looking for someone with experience particularly in marketing and the use of social media. A communications background would also be advantageous. We aim to increase membership in our secondary school class and promote the new adult recreation class. Ideally, we would be looking for someone with knowledge of membership growth and attracting people to a new sport or activity. As our club is based in Livingston, knowledge of local Facebook pages, such as West Lothian News and local community pages, would be extremely helpful. Ideally, we need someone who can also help build a photo library; it's hard to coach youngsters and take photos simultaneously, so building a good image collection would support the club going forward. Restrictions

Minimum age:

18 Ability to create innovative and interesting media campaigns suited to different ages and a local community. In-depth knowledge of social media channels and how to market groups on these pages. Knowledge and understanding of images the club can use.
