Office-based, Midhurst An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Manager to join the team at Cowdray as Maternity Cover. This progressive family-owned rural Estate is located at the heart of the South Downs National Park in West Sussex. The Estate is steeped in history and heritage; it contains the ruins of one of England’s most important early Tudor Houses and is the home of British Polo. There is also an award-winning Farm Shop & Café, a championship Golf Course, Holiday Accommodation, Wellbeing Centre, The Walled Garden and Cowdray House, two luxury event venues, which all sit alongside the more traditional estate activities including farming, forestry and property management. The successful applicant will have previous experience in marketing, including marketing strategy, email strategy, website management, agency management, copy writing, and campaign execution, as well as having an aptitude for creativity and customer insight alongside sound business sense. Key responsibilities include: Create and develop effective marketing strategies alongside the Marketing Director and wider team, tailoring these to the different businesses (Farm Shop & Café, Golf Club, Events business etc.) Oversee and manage the day-to-day operation of the website and supporting with future website development, focused on improving the user experience, journey, and engagement. Key contact for the rest of the Estate on any changes, updates, or additions to the website. Write and create email campaigns for the various Estate businesses, including the Estate as a whole, Farm Shop & Café, Weddings and Events, Corporate, Golf Club, Wellbeing, and Heritage, creating content that maximises engagement (measured through open rate and click rate) Work closely with the Estate businesses on upcoming events, and support in creating connected campaigns across all platforms to drive awareness and ticket sales (mainly Wedding & Events team, Heritage, Farm Shop & Café, Golf Club, Wellness) Key liaison and day-to-day management of external event suppliers, including Foraging and Stargazing contacts Key liaison and day-to-day management of Golf Club’s PR agency Manage all Wedding & Events directories with external suppliers, including check-in calls with account managers, regular profile updates, and analysing success with the wider internal events team Support Digital Marketing Exec with social strategy, content creation, Google Ads, Meta Ads, and reporting when needed Support Creative brand manager to produce marketing materials and literature for the various Estate businesses when needed Support in ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to across all campaign materials Monitor Marketing Inbox, responding to enquiries and monitoring voucher sales (includes creating and tracking vouchers) Manage and create Monthly Marketing Report with Digital Marketing Exec Curate weekly Staff Newsletter The candidate: A passionate, creative, proactive and confident individual 4-5 years previous marketing experience required Ability to think about the day-to-day and plan for longer term simultaneously Strong written and copywriting skills Personable and approachable Open-minded and a forward thinker Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work well under pressure Have previous experience managing and supporting the team Experience in Word Press and Mail Chimp preferable Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe A little more about the role: Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
