Job Title : Communications and Marketing Officer Location : Downpatrick/Newry Salary : £16.25 ph Contract : Initial Interim Contract (12 weeks with view to extend) About the Role A dynamic Council in Northern Ireland is seeking an experienced Communications and Marketing Officer to drive impactful communication strategies. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, this role supports the development and delivery of a broad communications service across internal and external channels, enhancing public awareness of Council initiatives and services. The intended start date for this role is 14/11/24. Responsibilities Implement effective internal and external communications and marketing strategies aligned with Council objectives. Plan and execute campaigns to promote Council services, events, and policies, managing media relations, PR, and digital channels. Maintain and enhance the Council's brand identity, ensuring high standards in all communications. Act as part of an emergency communications response team to ensure accurate information distribution during crises. Develop digital and print content for corporate materials, social media, and Council publications, ensuring accessibility and engagement. Requirements Proven experience in a communications and marketing role, ideally within a public sector setting. Strong project management skills, with experience managing campaigns across multiple media channels. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and contribute to evolving team objectives.
