An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a key part in marketing a diverse range of B2B professional and technical services to clients across the UK and Europe in a range of sectors - including consumer, pharmaceutical and medical, industrial, aerospace and energy. As the Marketing Specialist for Smithers Materials Science and Engineering Division, you will make a direct contribution to shaping and delivering the division’s marketing activities. As well as taking the lead in executing a range of marketing activities, you will develop annual marketing activity plans with support from the Director of Marketing and contribute to strategy in areas such as lead generation, search and content. Your main responsibilities will include: Leading the division’s content marketing activity and contributing to a strategy that supports brand positioning, search objectives, maximises engagement and lead generation. Writing and creating compelling content to generate leads and support business objectives – from articles and news items to video, webinars and infographics. Creating, developing and executing marketing campaigns across a range of channels to achieve lead and enquiry generation – with email as a core channel. Leading the division’s search marketing activity, providing knowledge and support to the business on SEO best practice, ensuring strong organic search ranking and delivery of qualified search traffic. Continually improving the effectiveness and response rate of marketing activity. A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role is preferred with proven experience and skills in: Creating and executing marketing campaigns for lead generation. Devising and planning campaign activity to meet business targets using multiple channels. Creative copy writing and experience of developing messaging for a range of channels. Writing and creating content to support business objectives, e.g. articles, webinars, video, news, infographics. Developing creative and effective email campaign ideas and themes to meet business objectives. Devising and executing organic search marketing campaign activity to meet business targets. You will be a proactive self-starter with an ability to grasp new technical concepts. Having understood a technical service proposition and target audience, you will be able to develop clear and effective messaging, content and campaigns to support lead and enquiry generation. You will be detail orientated and able to demonstrate proven success of managing multiple campaigns, increasing search traffic, driving audience engagement, conversion and lead generation. The successful candidate will have strong commercial awareness with solid analytical ability and critical assessment skills. An ability to work closely with stakeholders across the business and build effective relationships is also essential.
