Materials Controller focuses on coordinating all materials management activities.

What the role involves

  • Coordinating all materials management activities.
  • Overseeing ordering of equipment and materials in line with project schedules and operational requirements.
  • Ensure full traceability and integrity of materials control systems.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve materials management procedures and systems.
  • Liaise closely with procurement, engineering, construction, and logistics teams to forecast demand and mitigate supply risks.
  • Monitoring stock levels, identify surplus/obsolete materials, and optimise inventory holding.

Skills and requirements

  • Manage goods-in and goods-out processes, ensuring accurate documentation, manifests, and certification compliance.

Additional role context

  • Ensures materials are procured, received, stored, controlled, and issued safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules, compliance requirements, and commercial objec.
  • The position acts as the key interface between procurement, suppliers, project teams, and site operations.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers where beneficial to project or operational performance.
