As a Specialist Palliative Care Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with complex palliative care needs. Working across St Lukes Hospice's services, including the In-Patient Centre, outpatient services, and community care, you will provide assessments, rehabilitation, and support to help patients maintain independence and achieve their goals. This role is available on a bank basis, offering flexibility. Main duties of the job

Provide specialist physiotherapy assessments and develop personalised rehabilitation plans for patients with terminal illnesses. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, patient-centred care. Offer expert advice and training on moving and handling to staff, carers, and family members. Assess and arrange for specialist equipment, ensuring safe usage. Participate in discharge planning and contribute to the development of palliative care services. Maintain high standards of professional practice and accurate patient records. About us

Deliver skilled, evidence-based physiotherapy services to support patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Work autonomously and collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for patients. Provide professional advice to colleagues, GPs, consultants, and other healthcare professionals. Support the AHP team in service development and mentoring of assistants or volunteers. Stay updated on best practices through ongoing professional development and training. Adhere to hospice policies, professional standards, and health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and welfare of patients, colleagues, and yourself. Person Specification

Experience

Several years post-graduate experience Experience of interdisciplinary team working within a health care environment Post-registration experience of working in a palliative care/oncology setting Participation in clinical audit A clear understanding of the Physiotherapy role in a hospice setting Experience of working in the community Experience of providing clinical education for undergraduate students Experience of using computerised patient records Teaching experience Previous hospice-based employment Disclosure and Barring Service Check
