Maths and English Tutor Required
Zen Educate is seeking a teacher interested in taking on full-time work tutoring a small cohort of students in Year 10 and 11 in their Maths and English. This small group is currently behind in both subjects, requiring someone to work closely with them to help them catch up in time for exams. The tutoring work will not take up a full timetable, so the school will utilize you at other times to cover classes during staff absences.
The school is part of a national network of community schools that focus heavily on their local impact. This particular school has made significant progress over the last 12 months to hold students accountable for their behavior, resulting in a more positive environment.
Working hours:
8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, term time only. Minimum Requirements: UK QTS with a specialism in either Maths or English (ideally). Confident in the KS4 curriculum with good attainment records. Able to support students on a 1:1 basis and differentiate learning so each student can access the material and catch up. Offer encouragement, challenge, and empathy in your teaching style, recognizing each student's value. Strong communication skills with other staff members, reporting on student progress regularly. Flexibility to meet the needs of the school and cover lessons as needed outside of tutoring. Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or obtain one upon application.
